Savage Axis 2 Pro Woodland: Purpose-Built Precision
The Savage Axis 2 Pro represents a significant step forward in affordable, reliable bolt-action rifle design. Chambered in 6mm ARC—a modern cartridge gaining traction among hunters and precision shooters—this rifle delivers the accuracy and durability serious sportsmen demand.
Barrel and Action
The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features a 1:7.5" twist rate optimized for 6mm ARC performance. Threading at 5/8x24 accommodates suppressors and muzzle devices, while the Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish provides superior corrosion resistance in field conditions. The fluted design reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity.
The bolt action incorporates Savage's proven design with an updated, ergonomic bolt handle that improves control and operation, particularly in adverse weather or when wearing gloves.
Trigger and Controls
The user-adjustable AccuTrigger is a standout feature. You can customize trigger pull weight from 2.5 to 6 pounds, allowing you to dial in the crisp, predictable break essential for precision shooting. Side bolt release and ambidextrous magazine release ensure smooth operation regardless of your shooting hand.
Stock and Ergonomics
The Woodland camo synthetic stock features ambidextrous palm swells for a secure, comfortable grip. Two quick-detach sling studs provide mounting flexibility. The sporter-profile stock balances control and comfort for extended shooting sessions.
Accuracy and Mounting
A one-piece Picatinny rail (0 MOA) provides a solid foundation for optics mounting. The detachable box magazine holds four rounds and feeds reliably through the rifle's smooth action.
