Savage Axis 2 Pro Forest SP Camo Rifle
The Axis 2 Pro represents Savage's commitment to delivering serious hunting capability at a practical price point. This bolt-action centerfire rifle is purpose-built for big game hunting, combining proven reliability with modern ergonomic refinements.
Barrel and Action
The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features spiral fluting for reduced weight and improved heat dissipation. A Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish protects against corrosion in demanding field conditions. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 for suppressor or muzzle device compatibility, giving you flexibility for your setup. The 1:10 twist rate stabilizes .308 Winchester ammunition reliably across a wide velocity range.
Trigger and Controls
Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is a standout feature. You can customize trigger pull weight between 2.5 and 6 pounds to match your preference and shooting style. The redesigned bolt handle offers an ergonomic profile that improves handling in the field, while the side bolt release provides intuitive operation.
Stock and Ergonomics
The Forest SP camo synthetic stock features a textured coating for secure handling in wet conditions. Ambidextrous palm swells accommodate both right and left-handed shooters comfortably. Two quick-detach studs allow you to attach slings or other accessories without tools.
Accuracy and Mounting
A one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail comes factory-installed for direct scope mounting. The detachable box magazine holds four rounds and features ambidextrous release buttons for convenient reloading from either side.
