The CVA Optima V3: Modern Muzzleloading Refined
The Optima V3 represents CVA's commitment to delivering a muzzleloader that balances performance, reliability, and shooter comfort without unnecessary complexity or premium pricing.
Barrel and Accuracy
The 26-inch fluted stainless steel barrel provides an ideal compromise between maneuverability in dense cover and velocity for extended-range shooting. The 1:28" twist rate stabilizes modern conical and belted bullets effectively. Fluting reduces weight while the stainless construction resists corrosion in wet hunting conditions—essential for reliability when it matters most.
Stock and Ergonomics
The fully ambidextrous black composite stock incorporates:
- Adjustable comb with two included cheek risers for proper sight alignment
- Adjustable length of pull with removable spacer to accommodate different shooters and clothing layers
- Semi-vertical grip and ambidextrous palm swell for natural hand positioning and trigger control
- CrushZone recoil pad for reduced felt recoil
Practical Features
The Quick-Release Breech Plug is finger-removable for field cleaning without tools. The trigger-guard-integrated breech lever simplifies operation. The solid aluminum PalmSaver ramrod reduces hand fatigue during loading. Williams fiber optic sights provide reliable aiming in low-light conditions, while drilled and tapped receiver accepts modern scope mounts for those preferring optical aiming.

The Optima V3 delivers the features serious hunters demand: accuracy, reliability, and genuine adjustability for different shooters and hunting situations.
