Modern AK Ergonomics Redefined
The Magpul Zhukov Handguard represents a significant upgrade for shooters looking to modernize their AK-platform rifle. This American-made forearm combines polymer construction with a hard-anodized aluminum chassis to deliver both comfort and durability.
Key Features
- Extended Length Design: The 11.7-inch overall length provides a substantial gripping surface that accommodates modern shooting techniques and improves control
- Dual-Material Construction: Injection-molded polymer exterior for ergonomic comfort paired with a full-length aluminum chassis for strength and heat dispersion
- M-LOK Mounting System: Slots positioned at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions allow direct attachment of M-LOK accessories or M-LOK-to-Picatinny rail adapters
- Rigid Mounting: The aluminum chassis clamps directly to the barrel, eliminating flex and providing excellent heat shielding during extended shooting sessions
- Optics-Ready: Compatible with the Ultimak gas tube rail system for co-witnessed optics mounting
Compatibility and Installation
The Zhukov Hand Guard fits most AK-47, AKM, and AK-74 rifles with barrel diameters between 16.75 and 18.25 millimeters and barrel lengths greater than 13 inches. Installation requires permanent removal of the factory hand guard retaining cap and forward sling mount. Due to AK manufacturing tolerances, minor fitting may be necessary. Not compatible with Yugo-pattern rifles or RPK-style receivers.
What's Included
Each handguard comes with a replacement polymer top cover for added versatility.
