Compatibility and Installation

Designed as a direct replacement for standard AK-47, AKM, and AK-74 pattern handguards, the MOE AK installs using your existing front handguard retaining cap—no sling loop required. The handguard accepts factory cleaning rods and is compatible with UltiMAK optics mounts.

Important: Not compatible with Yugo pattern rifles, RPK-style receivers, or milled receivers. Minor fitting may be required due to typical AK manufacturing tolerances. If your rifle has a retaining cap with an integral sling loop, that loop must be removed for compatibility.
