Break-In Period
New Glock magazines can require a brief break-in period. The magazine spring is manufactured with tight tolerances for reliability. When new, loading all 15 rounds may be difficult until the spring compresses slightly.
Recommended Break-In Process:
- Load the magazine with 14 rounds and leave it loaded for several days
- Cycle the magazine from full to empty multiple times
- After a few days of use, the spring will compress naturally and loading becomes easier
This break-in is normal and does not indicate a defect. Once broken in, the magazine will provide years of reliable service.
