Barrel and Gas System

At the heart of the V7 is a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined 16" barrel with a 1:7" twist rate—ideal for stabilizing a wide range of 5.56mm ammunition. The mid-length direct impingement gas system strikes a balance between reliability and shooter comfort, reducing both perceived recoil and wear on critical components. A pinned low-profile gas block ensures consistent performance across varied conditions.

Handguard and Accessory Mounting

The Daniel Defense MFR XS 15" free-floating handguard uses M-LOK attachment technology, providing seven mounting positions along its length plus a full-length 1913 Picatinny rail on top. This gives you unlimited options for mounting optics, lights, lasers, and other tactical accessories. The free-floating design also contributes to superior accuracy and cooling.

Controls and Ergonomics

The GRIP-N-RIP ambidextrous charging handle accommodates both left and right-handed shooters with equal ease. The Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip feature glass-filled polymer construction with soft-touch overmolding for a secure, comfortable grip in any condition. A 6-position Mil-Spec receiver extension allows you to dial in the perfect length of pull.

Finish and Build Quality

The entire rifle is finished in Mil-Spec+ brown Cerakote—a durable, attractive coating that resists corrosion and wear. The lower receiver features an enhanced flared magazine well and rear QD swivel attachment point. The upper receiver is machined with indexing marks and M4 feed ramps. Both are CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard-coat anodized for durability.
