Winchester XPR Compact Bolt-Action Rifle
The Winchester XPR Compact represents a thoughtful approach to rifle design—building a serious hunting tool for shooters who need a shorter, lighter package without sacrificing accuracy or reliability.
Design Philosophy
Winchester combined proven engineering from their legendary Model 70 with modern manufacturing efficiency to create the XPR platform. The Compact variant addresses a real need: younger shooters, smaller-framed hunters, and anyone who benefits from a shorter length of pull and reduced overall length.
Trigger System
At the heart of every XPR lies Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System. The trigger housing and internal components are machined from polished, hardened carbon steel with a blued finish for durability and corrosion resistance. This is a trigger designed to perform in the field, not just on the bench.
Handling and Control
- Two-position safety operates intuitively with your firing hand thumb
- Bolt release button allows unloading without disengaging the safety
- Nickel Teflon bolt coating ensures smooth cycling and corrosion resistance
- Generous trigger guard opening accommodates gloved hands
- Textured grip panels provide secure purchase in wet conditions
Accuracy Foundation
The free-floating barrel eliminates pressure points that rob accuracy. The drilled and tapped chromoly steel receiver accepts standard scope bases, and the polished chamber ensures reliable feeding and extraction.
Practical Features
- Detachable box magazine (3-round capacity) lets you carry spare ammunition efficiently
- Advanced polymer stock withstands field abuse while maintaining superior grip
- Matte finishes (gray Perma-Cote barrel, matte gray receiver, matte black stock) eliminate glint and reduce maintenance
- Inflex recoil pad manages .243 Winchester's modest recoil
