Sierra 1345 Varminter .224 55gr Spitzer Blitz
Sierra's legendary Varminter Blitz bullets deliver explosive expansion on varmints and small game. Thin-jacketed 55gr spitzers designed for .222 and .223 rifles under 3600 fps.
Sierra Varminter Blitz .224 55-Grain Spitzer
Sierra's Varminter Blitz bullets represent decades of proven performance in the field. Introduced in 1982, these thin-jacketed projectiles are engineered specifically for rapid, reliable expansion on varmints and small game at moderate velocities.
Design and Performance
The Blitz designation indicates these bullets are optimized for velocities below 3600 fps, making them ideal for popular .222 Remington and .223 Remington cartridges. The sleek spitzer point shape delivers excellent ballistic characteristics:
- High ballistic coefficient for flat trajectory and extended range
- Thin jacket construction for explosive, total frangibility on impact
- Reliable expansion across typical hunting ranges
- Match-grade accuracy comparable to Sierra's renowned MatchKing line
Important Considerations
These lightly-jacketed bullets are designed for conventional twist-rate barrels (1x12" or 1x14"). Fast-twist barrels may cause mid-air disintegration. The 55-grain weight makes this an excellent choice for .222 and .223 rifles where terminal performance and accuracy are equally important.
Whether you're a dedicated varmint hunter or a precision shooter seeking reliable performance, Sierra's Varminter Blitz delivers the combination of accuracy and terminal effectiveness that has made it a trusted choice for generations.
