Design and Construction

The lower receiver is CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and features an enhanced flared magazine well for reliable feeding under demanding conditions. A rear receiver QD swivel attachment point provides mounting flexibility for slings and other accessories. Type III hard coat anodizing protects all aluminum components against corrosion and wear.

The upper receiver follows the same precision manufacturing standard, machined from the same 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with Type III hard coat anodizing.

Barrel and Gas System

The 16" barrel is cold hammer-forged from Daniel Defense proprietary steel with a 1:11" twist rate optimized for a wide range of 7.62 NATO ammunition. The S2W (Strength-to-Weight) profile balances durability with handling characteristics. Chrome lining extends barrel life, while mil-spec heavy phosphate coating provides corrosion resistance.

The intermediate direct impingement gas system features a user-adjustable gas block machined from hardened 4140 steel. This allows you to tune the rifle for suppressed or unsuppressed fire, ensuring reliable operation across different ammunition types and conditions.

Ergonomics and Controls

The DD5 Rail 15.0 handguard is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and features M-LOK attachment points for mounting optics, lights, and other tactical accessories. Both the buttstock and pistol grip are constructed from glass-filled polymer with soft touch overmolding for a secure, comfortable grip in all conditions.

The 6-position receiver extension allows you to adjust length of pull to suit your body type and shooting style. The mil-spec trigger provides clean, predictable breaks.
