Winchester's legendary Model 70 Extreme in 6.5 Creedmoor features a 22" free-floating barrel, Tungsten Cerakote finish, TrueTimber VSX stock, and muzzle brake. Four-round magazine capacity.
Since 1936, the Winchester Model 70 has been the benchmark against which every other bolt-action rifle is measured. This Extreme model carries forward that legacy with modern refinements designed for hunters and precision shooters who demand reliability and accuracy.
The heart of the Model 70 is its legendary Controlled Round Feed (CRF) bolt design. A massive claw extractor smoothly engages approximately one-quarter of the cartridge base, maintaining full control from magazine to chamber through ejection. This design also allows extraction of unfired rounds that haven't fully chambered—a critical safety feature.
Receiver & Bedding: The forged steel receiver is machined from a solid block of steel with a flat bottom profile that maximizes bedding surface area. Two-part epoxy bedding at the front and rear prevents shift during firing.
Barrel: The 22" free-floating barrel is button-rifled for superior accuracy and durability. The integral muzzle brake reduces recoil and helps manage the 6.5 Creedmoor's moderate kick.
Trigger: The M.O.A. Trigger System is the most precise three-lever trigger mechanism available, delivering crisp, consistent performance.
The Model 70 Extreme represents Winchester's commitment to delivering a rifle that performs as well in the field as it does on the range.
