Thompson Center Encore ProHunter Katahdin 460 S&W 20"

Thompson Center Encore ProHunter Katahdin: Serious Power in a Modular Package

The Encore line represents a fundamental shift in rifle design philosophy. Rather than committing to a single caliber, you get a platform that adapts to your hunting needs through interchangeable barrels.

Key Features

• Caliber: 460 S&W Magnum—a powerhouse round for large game
• Barrel: 20-inch stainless steel, fluted for weight reduction and heat dissipation
• Muzzle: Threaded (11/16-24) for suppressors or muzzle devices
• Twist Rate: 1:16 for stable bullet performance
• No Iron Sights: Designed for modern optics mounting

Why the Encore System Works

The real advantage here is flexibility. Buy additional barrels in different calibers—rifle, shotgun, or muzzleloader configurations—and you've essentially got multiple firearms in one receiver. This approach appeals to serious hunters who want to pursue different game without maintaining separate firearms.

The stainless construction handles harsh field conditions. The fluted barrel reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity, and the threaded muzzle gives you options for sound management or muzzle control.

Built for Precision

This is a single-shot design, which means every shot counts. The Encore platform is known for accuracy, making it ideal for hunters who prefer deliberate, well-placed shots over rapid fire.

If you're serious about hunting and want maximum versatility from one platform, the Encore ProHunter Katahdin deserves your attention.
