Hornady Precision Hunter .243 Win 90gr ELD-X

Hornady Precision Hunter Ammunition

Hornady's Precision Hunter line represents the pinnacle of factory-loaded hunting ammunition, combining meticulous engineering with real-world performance. This .243 Winchester load pairs the proven ELD-X bullet with carefully selected propellants to deliver both accuracy and terminal performance.

The ELD-X Bullet Design

The 90-grain ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag eXpanding) bullet features several innovations that set it apart:

• Heat Shield Tip: Resists aerodynamic heating and maintains shape throughout the trajectory, preserving ballistic coefficient from muzzle to target
• Streamlined Secant Ogive: Optimized boattail design reduces drag and improves downrange velocity retention
• Highly Concentric Jackets: AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) jackets ensure consistent performance and accuracy
• InterLock Ring: Works with the thick jacket shank to retain 50-60% of bullet weight, providing controlled expansion and deep penetration

Ammunition Quality

Each round is loaded to exacting standards:

• Ballistic Coefficient: .409
• Muzzle Velocity: 3150 fps
• Clean-burning propellants loaded to uniform capacity
• Consistent shot-to-shot performance regardless of temperature
• 20 rounds per box

Hornady's commitment to precision extends from component selection through final inspection. This ammunition is suitable for hunting applications from 0-400 yards, making it versatile for most hunting scenarios where the .243 Winchester excels.
