Winchester XPR Hunter: Practical Hunting Rifle Design
The Winchester XPR Hunter represents a thoughtful approach to modern rifle design—delivering genuine performance without unnecessary complexity or cost. This bolt-action rifle is built for hunters who understand that reliability and accuracy matter more than flash.
Barrel and Receiver
The XPR features a 22-inch chromoly steel barrel with a 1:12-inch twist rate, optimized for .308 Winchester ballistics. Winchester's Permacote finish in Flat Dark Earth provides a tough, non-reflective surface that resists corrosion while minimizing glint in the field. The barrel is free-floating for consistent accuracy, and the muzzle features a recessed target crown to protect the bore.
The chromoly steel receiver is drilled and tapped for standard 8-40 scope bases, ready for your optics. The one-piece trigger guard and magazine frame design provides a generous opening—important when shooting in cold weather with gloves.
Trigger and Controls
Winchester's MOA Trigger System delivers a clean, predictable break. The two-position safety is intuitive, and the bolt release button allows quick magazine changes without removing your hand from the stock.
Stock and Ergonomics
The synthetic TrueTimber Strata stock is built for real-world hunting. The advanced polymer resists scratches and impact damage while providing superior grip in wet conditions. An Inflex Technology recoil pad manages .308 Winchester's moderate recoil effectively.
