Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather .308 Win 22" Threaded

Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather: Built for Unforgiving Conditions

The Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather represents the evolution of America's most iconic rifle platform. Chambered in .308 Winchester, this rifle combines proven mechanical reliability with modern materials engineered for performance in demanding environments.

Design and Construction

The Model 70 Extreme Weather features a Bell and Carlson composite stock with a textured charcoal gray matte finish. This lay-up construction provides a solid, stable platform while maintaining lightweight ergonomics. The sculpted cheekpiece ensures consistent eye-to-scope alignment from any shooting position—critical for precision work in the field.

The 22-inch stainless steel barrel is free-floating for enhanced accuracy and features a recessed target crown to protect the muzzle. The 9/16x24 threaded muzzle accommodates modern suppressors or muzzle brakes, giving you flexibility in managing recoil and sound signature.

Mechanical Features

This rifle carries forward Winchester's legendary Model 70 heritage:

• Pre-'64 Style Controlled Round Feed with claw extractor for absolute reliability
• Three-Position Safety for intuitive operation
• M.O.A. Trigger delivering crisp, predictable breaks
• Blade-Type Ejector for consistent cartridge handling
• Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad that significantly reduces felt recoil from magnum-class cartridges

Why This Rifle Matters

The .308 Winchester remains the gold standard for hunters and shooters who demand versatility. It delivers sufficient power for North American big game while remaining manageable in recoil and ammunition cost. The Extreme Weather's stainless steel construction and composite stock resist corrosion and weather degradation—essential qualities for rifles that see real use in real conditions.

Whether you're hunting in rain-soaked forests or shooting across open country, the Model 70 Extreme Weather delivers the accuracy and reliability that have made Winchester's Model 70 the benchmark for bolt-action rifles for over seven decades.
