Faxon AR15 5.56 NATO Socom Profile Barrel
This 7.5-inch barrel from Faxon represents a practical solution for shooters building or upgrading a short-barreled AR15 rifle. The Socom profile provides a balance between weight and rigidity, making it suitable for both tactical and recreational shooting applications.

Design and Performance
The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights, from lighter varmint rounds to heavier 77-grain match ammunition. This versatility makes the barrel suitable for various shooting disciplines without requiring load-specific tuning.
The Socom profile offers a practical middle ground—lighter than a full-profile barrel yet more rigid than pencil designs. This geometry helps manage recoil while keeping overall rifle weight reasonable for extended shooting sessions.
Practical Considerations
A 7.5-inch barrel produces a compact rifle ideal for close-quarters work, home defense, or situations where maneuverability matters. Expect a modest velocity reduction compared to longer barrels, though the 5.56 NATO round remains effective at typical engagement distances.
Faxon barrels are known for consistent quality and reliable performance across diverse shooting conditions.
