Brenneke Red Magic Sabot Slug
The Brenneke Red Magic represents a significant advancement in shotgun slug technology, engineered for hunters who demand superior performance from their 12-gauge shotguns.
Key Features
- Caliber & Capacity: 12 gauge, 2.75" shell length
- Projectile Weight: 1 oz (437 grains)
- Frontal Area: 58% larger than standard .50 caliber slugs
- Muzzle Velocity: 1584 FPS
- Expansion: Controlled expansion to approximately .9" diameter upon impact
Design & Performance
The Red Magic slug features a distinctive lead point with right-pointing ribs that facilitate smooth passage through various shotgun chokes. This engineering ensures reliable feeding and consistent performance across different shotgun platforms.
Upon penetration, the slug expands in a controlled manner, creating a larger wound channel while maintaining structural integrity for deep, reliable penetration. The sabot design separates cleanly from the projectile, allowing the slug to perform at its full potential.
Ideal Applications
These slugs are well-suited for deer hunting and other medium to large game applications where reliable expansion and deep penetration are essential. The increased frontal area translates to more effective energy transfer and faster, more humane kills.
