The Chiappa Rhino: A Revolver Reimagined
The Chiappa Rhino Special 60 DS represents a departure from conventional revolver design. Its distinctive profile and engineering philosophy make it a conversation piece at any range.
Key Features
- Caliber: .44 Magnum—a powerful cartridge for hunting and sport shooting
- Barrel Length: 6 inches, providing excellent sight radius and velocity
- Action: Double-action/single-action revolver
- Capacity: 6 rounds
- Low-Bore Axis Design: The cylinder sits lower than traditional revolvers, positioning the bore closer to your hand. This reduces muzzle rise and felt recoil, making follow-up shots faster and more accurate
- Distinctive Aesthetics: The Rhino's unconventional lines and special design make it instantly recognizable
Why the Low-Bore Axis Matters
When you fire a revolver, the recoil impulse travels upward through your hand. The Rhino's design minimizes this vertical movement, keeping your sights on target naturally. For shooters working with powerful cartridges like .44 Magnum, this is a genuine advantage.
Built for Serious Shooters
This is not a gun for everyone—nor should it be. The .44 Magnum demands respect and proper technique. But in the hands of a shooter who understands its capabilities, the Rhino becomes a formidable tool for hunting, sport shooting, or personal defense.
