Weatherby Orion I 12 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun

The Weatherby Orion I: A Refined Over/Under for the Serious Shooter

The Orion I represents Weatherby's commitment to building shotguns that work as hard as the hunter who carries them. Whether you're pursuing chukar in the mountains, quail in the desert, or breaking clays at the range, this over/under delivers the balance of form and function that separates good shotguns from great ones.

Design and Handling

The low-profile receiver creates a natural shouldering point, allowing faster target acquisition when the moment matters. The slim action employs sliding locking bars positioned above the ejectors, resulting in less bulk than many competing designs. This refined geometry translates to a shotgun that swings naturally and points intuitively—qualities that separate the Orion from heavier, more cumbersome competitors.

Practical Features

• Automatic ejectors throw empty hulls clear of the chamber, keeping you in the fight
• Ambidextrous tang safety and barrel selector accommodate both right and left-handed shooters
• Chrome-lined bores resist corrosion and simplify maintenance
• Matte ventilated rib reduces glare and aids target acquisition
• Brass bead front sight provides a reliable aiming reference
• Prince of Wales grip offers secure handling and reduced recoil transmission

Specifications

The 26-inch barrels with 3-inch chambers and included chokes provide versatility for various hunting scenarios. At just 7 pounds, the Orion remains light enough for a full day afield without fatigue.
