Savage Axis 2 Pro Western: Modern Hunting Precision
The Axis 2 Pro Western represents Savage's commitment to delivering serious hunting capability in a modern package. Chambered in 6mm ARC—a cartridge gaining rapid acceptance among hunters who appreciate its ballistic efficiency and moderate recoil—this rifle bridges the gap between traditional hunting rifles and contemporary precision platforms.
Barrel and Accuracy
The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features a 1:7.5" twist rate optimized for 6mm ARC performance. A Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish provides superior corrosion resistance, essential for hunters operating in demanding environments. The barrel is threaded (1/2x28) for suppressor or muzzle device installation, giving you flexibility in how you configure the rifle for your specific hunting application.
Trigger and Action
Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is a standout feature. You can customize trigger pull weight from 2.5 to 6 pounds, allowing you to dial in the exact break you prefer. The enhanced bolt handle delivers improved ergonomics and functionality, while the side bolt release provides intuitive operation in the field.
Stock and Handling
The Western camo synthetic stock features textured ergonomic surfaces for secure grip control in various weather conditions. Two quick-detach sling studs (black) are positioned for standard sling attachment. The sporter-profile stock balances weight and handling for extended hunting days.
Precision Platform
A one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail provides a solid foundation for optics mounting. The detachable box magazine holds 4 rounds and features ambidextrous release for either-hand operation. At 6.8 pounds and 40.5 inches overall, the Axis 2 Pro Western offers manageable weight and length for practical hunting use.
