Ballistics & Performance

• Velocity: 920 fps (6.5" barrel)
• Energy: 451 ft./lbs.
• Bullet: 240-grain Keith-style hardcast semi-wadcutter
• Pressure: Standard

From a shorter barrel like the Ruger Alaskan, you can expect approximately 800 fps—still plenty of power for hunting and field use.

Why Choose This Load

The hardcast construction resists deformation and provides excellent penetration on game. The semi-wadcutter profile cuts clean holes for reliable expansion and energy transfer. This is a practical, no-nonsense cartridge for hunters and outdoorsmen who demand dependable performance.
