The Rifle That Set the Standard
Since 1936, the Winchester Model 70 has been the benchmark against which all other bolt-action rifles are measured. The Super Grade represents the pinnacle of Winchester's rifle-making tradition, blending classic design with modern precision.
Action and Reliability
The Model 70 Super Grade features Winchester's legendary Pre-'64 Controlled Round Feed design. A massive claw extractor maintains full control over your cartridge from the moment it leaves the magazine through complete ejection. This proven system even allows extraction of unfired cartridges that haven't fully chambered—a safety feature that has saved hunters and shooters for generations.
Precision Engineering
- Forged steel receiver machined from a solid block for maximum strength and durability
- Free-floating button-rifled barrel with target crown ensures superior accuracy
- M.O.A. Trigger System—the most precise three-lever trigger mechanism available
- Three-position safety operated conveniently with your thumb
- Blade-type ejector for positive case ejection and control
Stock and Handling
The Super Grade's stock is crafted from Grade AAA French walnut with an ebony forearm tip and polished steel grip cap. The distinctive shadowline cheekpiece is both beautiful and functional, positioning your eye in perfect alignment with your scope. A one-piece steel bottom metal adds rigidity to the stock and action, improving overall accuracy and consistency.
