The Henry Big Boy Side Gate: Classic Lever Action Meets Modern Convenience
The Henry Big Boy Side Gate represents a thoughtful evolution of the classic American lever-action rifle. This .45 Colt rifle combines traditional aesthetics with practical modern features that make it equally at home on the range, in the field, or in your collection.
Design and Handling
The side-loading gate is the star of this design. It allows you to top off your magazine without removing the tube—a genuine convenience that respects the rifle's classic profile. The removable tube magazine remains for safe, easy unloading when needed. The American walnut furniture features deep, intricate checkering that provides a secure grip in all conditions.
Sighting and Accuracy
A fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with diamond insert pairs with a brass bead front sight. The 20" round blued barrel delivers the accuracy you expect from Henry's reputation for precision. The rifle is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, giving you flexibility for your intended use.
