The Ruger American Rifle Generation II Patrol represents a thoughtful evolution in modern rifle design. This .308 Winchester platform combines the proven reliability of the American Rifle line with features specifically engineered for field performance and accuracy.

Barrel and Action

The 16.1-inch bull contour barrel is cold hammer-forged, resulting in ultra-precise rifling that delivers exceptional accuracy and longevity. The Graphite Black Cerakote finish on the barrel, receiver, and bolt handle provides a durable, low-maintenance coating that resists corrosion and wear. The muzzle is threaded (5/16"-24) to accept suppressors and other muzzle devices, with a factory-installed thread protector included.

Accuracy and Handling

Power Bedding™ System: The integral bedding block positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel—a proven method for achieving outstanding accuracy.

Marksman Adjustable™ Trigger: User-adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds, this trigger offers a crisp, predictable release.

Bolt Design: The one-piece CNC-machined stainless steel bolt features the familiar three-lug design with a 70° throw, providing ample scope clearance and smooth operation. The oversized bolt handle ensures positive manipulation in the field.

Stock and Controls

The black splatter-finished synthetic stock provides excellent grip without sharp edges. The soft rubber recoil pad features a large heel radius for easy shouldering and progressive collapse to reduce felt recoil. Length of pull adjusts from 12" to 13.75" via removable spacers. The installed low comb improves sight alignment with magnified optics and can be removed for low-mounted sights.

The intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt, preventing inadvertent opening while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

Included and Available

Ships with one magazine, steel sling swivel studs, and thread protector. Factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base. Optional accessory stock weight kit adds up to 1.6 pounds to improve balance with heavier muzzle devices.
