The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite: Concealed Carry Perfected
The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite represents a thoughtful approach to personal defense—a revolver engineered for those who understand that the best firearm is the one you'll actually carry every day.
Design and Construction
This small-frame revolver chambers the proven .38 Special cartridge in a 6-round cylinder. The aluminum frame keeps overall weight to a mere 15.7 ounces, making it genuinely concealable without the burden of heavier steel designs. The 2-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between controllability and ballistic efficiency.
Practical Features
- Action: Double/single action mechanism for both deliberate aimed fire and rapid follow-up shots
- Sights: Serrated ramp front sight and fixed rear sight—simple, reliable, and adequate for defensive distances
- Grip: Finger-grooved black rubber grips provide secure purchase and reduce recoil transmission
- Finish: Matte black with gold-accented trigger and hammer for visual distinction and corrosion resistance
- Safety: Transfer bar mechanism prevents accidental discharge from impact
Why the 856 Ultra Lite Matters
