The Taurus 856 Concealed Hammer: Discrete Defense in Your Pocket
The Taurus 856 Concealed Hammer represents a thoughtful evolution in personal defense revolvers. By eliminating the external hammer, Taurus has created a handgun that slides into a pocket or waistband without snagging—a genuine advantage for those who carry concealed.
Design and Ergonomics
This is a small-frame revolver built for comfort and concealability. At just 22 ounces and measuring 6.55 inches overall, the 856 won't fatigue your hand or weigh down your belt. The soft rubber grips absorb recoil impulse while providing a secure purchase, even in defensive situations where speed matters.
Mechanical Reliability
Six-round capacity in .38 Special +P gives you adequate firepower for personal defense. The double-action-only trigger eliminates the need to manage a hammer, simplifying the shooting process under stress. A transfer bar safety ensures the revolver won't fire if dropped.
Practical Features
- 2-inch barrel optimizes the balance between velocity and concealability
- Serrated ramp front sight and fixed rear sight allow quick target acquisition
- Matte black finish resists glare and corrosion
- Carbon steel construction provides durability and reliable function
Ammunition Flexibility
The .38 Special +P chambering accepts everything from light target loads for practice to premium self-defense ammunition. This versatility makes the 856 equally at home at the range or in a nightstand.
For those seeking a no-nonsense revolver that prioritizes concealment without sacrificing reliability, the Taurus 856 Concealed Hammer delivers.
