Spyderco Mantra 4 Folding Knife, 3.34" Drop Point

The Mantra 4: Refined Simplicity in a Folding Knife

Spyderco's Mantra 4 represents the evolution of a proven design philosophy—minimalist elegance combined with genuine functionality. This fourth-generation folder demonstrates that sometimes the best designs are those that do exactly what they're supposed to do, without unnecessary complications.

Blade Design and Performance

The 3.34-inch blade is full-flat-ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a material known for its balance between edge retention and ease of maintenance. The drop point profile offers versatility for general cutting tasks, whether you're processing game, preparing camp meals, or handling everyday cutting chores.

Key blade features:

• Full-flat grind for efficient cutting geometry
• Trademark Round Hole for one-handed opening
• Satin finish resists corrosion and glare
• Plain edge for reliable, predictable cutting

The Front-Flipper Mechanism

What sets the Mantra 4 apart is its exceptionally refined front-flipper opener. In the closed position, only a tiny sliver of the blade's tang protrudes above the handle spine. A simple stroke of your index finger against this textured surface engages the blade with surprising speed and authority. The mechanism rides on ball bearing washers, ensuring smooth, reliable deployment every time.

Handle and Ergonomics

The white G-10 handle with silver accents provides excellent grip in wet or dry conditions. The liner lock mechanism securely holds the blade open during use while remaining easy to disengage when you're ready to fold the knife closed. At 7.5 inches overall length, the Mantra 4 strikes a practical balance between reach and portability.

A Knife Built to Last

This is a tool designed for shooters, hunters, campers, and anyone who appreciates quality cutlery. The Mantra 4 won't demand constant maintenance, yet it rewards proper care with years of reliable service.
