Spyderco's first button-lock folder features a 3.27" 8Cr13MoV clip point blade, carbon fiber/G-10 scales, ball bearing pivot, and reversible carry clip for left or right-hand deployment.
Designed by Eric Glesser, the ButtonUp represents Spyderco's first venture into manual-opening button-lock folders. This knife merges cutting-edge locking technology with exceptional ergonomics to create one of the smoothest and most satisfying folder actions available.
The modified clip point blade measures 3.27 inches and is forged from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. A full-flat grind provides superior edge geometry and blade strength, making it equally capable for utility tasks and general cutting work. The combination edge offers versatility for different cutting applications.
The button-lock mechanism delivers high-strength security with ultra-convenient one-handed operation. Ball bearing pivot washers ensure the blade deploys and retracts with exceptional smoothness—a fidget-friendly action that shooters and outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate during extended carry.
The lightweight, open-backed handle combines smooth carbon fiber and G-10 laminate scales for durability and easy cleaning. Nested stainless steel microliners reinforce the pivot and lock areas, ensuring long-term reliability. A lined lanyard tube accommodates fobs and lanyards for personalization and security.
The reversible hourglass clip provides flexibility for left- or right-side tip-up carry, accommodating different carry preferences and clothing styles. The clip anchors to a second set of microliners in the handle butt for secure retention.
