The Taurus OF is a capable freestanding shelter designed for backpackers and campers who demand reliable weather protection without sacrificing packability. This tent stands on its own merit—literally—requiring no stakes or guy lines to establish a secure camp.
Design & Construction
The Taurus OF employs a proven two-pole aluminum frame system using 7000 series poles. The design is straightforward: poles snap into clips for rapid assembly in changing conditions. The 75D 185T polyester fly resists ultraviolet damage and maintains tension in wind, while factory-sealed seams on both fly and floor provide the weather protection you need when conditions deteriorate.
The floor is constructed from 210D 110T nylon Oxford with a 1500mm coating—substantial material that stands up to rough ground and extended use.
Weather Protection & Ventilation
Two full vestibules offer 22 square feet of protected storage for gear and provide additional weather shielding at entry points. The dual-door design with zippered mesh windows allows you to choose your entry point and manage interior humidity through cross-ventilation. Pop-up vents and mesh panels work together to reduce condensation without compromising weather protection.
