The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite: Compact Reliability for Personal Defense
The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite represents a thoughtful approach to personal defense—a revolver engineered for those who understand that a firearm carried regularly is infinitely more valuable than one left at home.
Design and Ergonomics
This small-frame revolver tips the scales at just 16 ounces, making it genuinely concealable for on-body or off-body carry. The 2-inch barrel keeps the overall length to 6.55 inches, while the matte stainless steel frame and cylinder resist corrosion. Finger-grooved black rubber grips provide a secure, comfortable hold without excess bulk.
Sights and Laser
The 856 Ultra Lite ships with a serrated ramp front sight and fixed rear sight for quick target acquisition. The integrated Viridian red laser grip transforms low-light defensive scenarios, projecting a precise aiming point when speed matters most.
Mechanical Reliability
Caliber: .38 Special +P
Capacity: 6 rounds
Action: Double/Single action with transfer bar safety
Barrel: 2 inches
The double/single action mechanism allows deliberate first-shot accuracy followed by rapid follow-up shots. The transfer bar safety prevents accidental discharge from impact or drop.
The Bottom Line
The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite is purpose-built for those who refuse to compromise between capability and carryability. It delivers genuine defensive utility in a package light enough to wear all day.
