The Safest Introduction to Shooting
The Savage Rascal represents a thoughtful approach to youth firearms training. This single-shot .22 Long Rifle rifle prioritizes safety and skill development above all else, making it an ideal choice for introducing younger shooters to the fundamentals of marksmanship.
Safety-First Design
The Rascal's most distinctive feature is its manual cocking mechanism. Shooters lift the bolt to cock the rifle and can unload a round without ever touching the trigger. This design eliminates a common source of accidents and builds proper handling habits from the start.
Full-Size Rifle Features
Despite its youth-oriented dimensions, the Rascal doesn't compromise on features:
- Adjustable peep sights for precise aiming and sight picture development
- Savage AccuTrigger with user-adjustable pull weight—no gunsmith required
- Drilled and tapped receiver ready for scope mounting
- Feed ramp for reliable single-shot operation
- 11.25-inch length of pull sized appropriately for younger shooters
Build Quality
The rifle features a satin blued carbon steel barrel paired with a durable pink synthetic stock. The combination provides reliable performance with minimal maintenance requirements.
The Right Tool for Skill Building
The Rascal teaches fundamental marksmanship without distraction. Its light recoil, simple operation, and quality trigger make it possible for young shooters to focus on sight alignment, breath control, and trigger press—the core skills that define accurate shooting.
