Sierra MatchKing 6.5mm 123-Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail
Sierra's 6.5mm 123-grain MatchKing represents a significant advancement in mid-weight, high-ballistic-coefficient ammunition for long-range shooters. This bullet fills a critical niche for competitors and precision shooters who demand consistent, record-setting accuracy at extended distances.
Design Features
Optimized Ballistics
- Longer ogive profile for improved aerodynamics
- Smaller meplat (tip) for enhanced downrange efficiency
- Improved boat tail design to preserve velocity and reduce wind drift
- High ballistic coefficient for stable, predictable flight
Construction Quality
- Match-grade manufacturing standards
- Consistent weight and dimensions for reliable performance
- Recognized worldwide for accuracy and precision
Intended Use
These bullets excel in:
- Long-range target shooting competitions
- Precision rifle matches
- Silhouette competitions
- Benchrest shooting
Important Considerations
MatchKing bullets are not recommended for hunting applications. Their heavier jackets are designed for target accuracy rather than reliable expansion on game animals. While sometimes used for varmint hunting, they do not provide the same reliable explosive performance as Sierra's purpose-designed Hornet Blitz or Varminter bullets at equivalent velocities.
