Savage Axis 2 Pro Forest SP: Purpose-Built for the Hunting Field
The Savage Axis 2 Pro represents a thoughtful evolution in affordable, accurate hunting rifles. This 7mm-08 Remington bolt-action is engineered for hunters who understand that precision and reliability matter when the moment of truth arrives.
Design and Ergonomics
Savage has refined the Axis platform with genuine attention to field ergonomics. The updated bolt handle delivers smooth, controlled operation even in adverse weather. The ambidextrous palm swells on the Forest SP synthetic stock provide a secure grip for shooters of varying hand sizes, while the textured camo coating enhances purchase in wet conditions.
Accuracy and Performance
Barrel and Action: The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features spiral fluting—a design choice that reduces weight while maintaining rigidity and improving heat dissipation. The Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish protects against corrosion and reflects the professional approach to this rifle's construction.
Trigger System: The user-adjustable AccuTrigger is a genuine advantage. You can customize trigger pull from 2.5 to 6 pounds, allowing you to dial in the exact feel you prefer. This level of control is rarely found at this price point.
Threaded Muzzle: The 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts suppressors and muzzle devices, expanding the rifle's versatility.
