Savage Axis 2 Pro: Purpose-Built for the Hunting Field
The Axis 2 Pro represents a thoughtful evolution in affordable, reliable bolt-action rifle design. Chambered in .270 Winchester—a proven cartridge for medium to large game—this rifle combines practical features with genuine hunting ergonomics.
Barrel and Action
The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features spiral fluting for reduced weight and improved heat dissipation. A threaded muzzle (5/8x24) accommodates suppressors or muzzle devices. The barrel wears a durable Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish that resists corrosion and wear. The bolt features an updated, ergonomic design that cycles smoothly even in cold or wet conditions.
Trigger and Control
Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger allows you to customize pull weight between 2.5 and 6 pounds—a genuine advantage for shooters seeking a crisp, predictable break. The side bolt release and ambidextrous magazine release accommodate both left and right-handed shooters.
Stock and Handling
The Forest SP camo synthetic stock features ambidextrous palm swells for a secure, comfortable grip. A textured coating enhances purchase in wet conditions. Two Quick Detach studs support sling attachment. At 6.8 pounds, the rifle remains manageable in the field without sacrificing stability.
Accuracy and Mounting
A one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail provides a solid foundation for optics. The detachable box magazine holds four rounds and feeds reliably.
The Axis 2 Pro delivers honest, dependable performance for hunters who value function over flash.
