Savage Axis 2 Pro: Purpose-Built Hunting Rifle
The Savage Axis 2 Pro represents a significant evolution in modern hunting rifle design. Chambered in .243 Winchester, this bolt-action centerfire rifle combines proven reliability with contemporary ergonomics and precision engineering.
Barrel and Action
The 20-inch heavy sporter barrel features spiral fluting for reduced weight and improved heat dissipation. A Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish protects against corrosion in harsh field conditions. The barrel is threaded (5/8x24) to accept suppressors or muzzle devices, and the 1:9.25-inch twist rate stabilizes standard .243 Winchester ammunition.
The updated bolt handle delivers a sleek, ergonomic design that improves handling and control during rapid cycling. Thread-in headspacing ensures precision and simplifies maintenance.
Trigger and Controls
The user-adjustable AccuTrigger is the heart of this rifle's accuracy potential. Shooters can customize trigger pull from 2.5 to 6 pounds, allowing you to dial in the exact break you prefer. Ambidextrous magazine release and side bolt release accommodate both left and right-handed shooters.
Stock and Ergonomics
The Forest SP camo synthetic stock features ambidextrous palm swells for comfortable, stable shooting from various positions. A textured coating enhances grip in wet conditions. Two quick-detach studs (black) allow attachment of slings or shooting supports.
Accuracy and Customization
A one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail provides a solid foundation for optics mounting. The detachable box magazine (4-round capacity) feeds reliably and allows quick magazine changes in the field.
