The MOE SL handguard represents a thoughtful balance between capability and practicality. Designed for AR-15 and M4 carbine-length rifles with A2 front sight assemblies, this handguard delivers genuine modularity in a lightweight package.
Construction and Design
Reinforced polymer construction provides operational durability while keeping weight minimal. The integral riveted aluminum heat shield protects your hand from the front sight assembly during sustained fire. A generous front extension and lower lip maximize useable handguard length while offering protection from heat.
Modularity
M-LOK accessory slots positioned at the two, six, and ten o'clock positions accept:
- Optional Picatinny rail sections
- Tactical lights and laser systems
- Quick-detach sling mounts
- Vertical grips and other direct-attach accessories
Installation
The MOE SL is a direct replacement for standard M4 carbine two-piece plastic handguards. Installation uses your existing delta ring and round front handguard retaining cap—no gunsmithing required.
Important Compatibility Notes
- Requires triangular A2 front sight assembly
- Not compatible with piston-operated AR platforms
- Not compatible with factory sling swivels on the A2 front sight
