Magpul MOE SL Mid-Length Handguard

The MOE SL handguard represents a practical approach to AR-15 modularity without the weight penalty of full aluminum rail systems. Designed for mid-length gas systems paired with A2 front sight assemblies, this handguard combines cost-effectiveness with genuine tactical flexibility.

Construction & Durability

Reinforced polymer construction provides heat resistance and operational durability while keeping weight minimal. An integral riveted aluminum heat shield protects your hands from the hot front sight assembly during sustained fire. The large front extension and protective lower lip maximize useable handguard length while shielding the shooter from contact with the gas block.

Modular Accessory Mounting

M-LOK slots positioned at the two, six, and ten o'clock positions accept optional Picatinny rail sections and direct-attach M-LOK accessories. Mount tactical lights, slings, vertical grips, and other equipment exactly where you need them.

Installation & Compatibility

The MOE SL installs using your existing delta ring and round front handguard retaining cap—no gunsmithing required. This handguard is a direct replacement for most factory plastic mid-length handguards.

Important compatibility notes: Requires a round (not triangular) retaining cap and rear spring-loaded delta ring. Must be used with A2 front sight assemblies; other gas blocks are not compatible. Not suitable for piston-operated AR platforms. If equipped, remove the factory sling swivel from the A2 front sight assembly before installation.
