Springfield Armory XD9802 Sub-Compact 40 S&W

Springfield Armory XD Sub-Compact 40 S&W

The XD Sub-Compact represents Springfield Armory's commitment to delivering a defensive pistol that balances ergonomic excellence with genuine safety features. This California-compliant model chambers the potent 40 S&W cartridge in a compact package designed for concealed carry and personal defense.

Safety & Reliability

The XD's legendary safety system combines three independent mechanisms:

• Grip Safety: Prevents accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped or mishandled
• Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) Action Trigger System: Prevents trigger movement unless the grip safety is properly engaged
• Firing Pin Block Safety: Mechanically blocks the firing pin until the trigger is fully pressed

These systems work together to create an undeniably safe defensive tool suitable for both experienced shooters and those new to firearms.

Durability & Finish

The 3-inch hammer-forged barrel and forged steel slide receive a Melonite finish—a proven surface treatment that resists corrosion and wear in harsh environments. This ensures your XD remains reliable whether carried daily or stored for emergency use.

Practical Features

• Steel 3-Dot Sights: White dot rear sight with dovetail front sight for quick target acquisition
• Picatinny Rail: Accommodates tactical lights and laser systems
• Ambidextrous Magazine Release: Operates smoothly for both right and left-handed shooters
