Mechanical Excellence

At the heart of the Hawkeye Hunter lies a non-rotating Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor—one of the most reliable case extraction systems ever designed. The fixed blade-type ejector positively ejects empty cases as the bolt cycles fully rearward, ensuring consistent, dependable operation in all conditions.

The one-piece stainless steel bolt is built to last, while the hinged solid-steel floorplate allows quick unloading without cycling each round through the chamber. The engraved Ruger logo and patented flush latch prevent accidental cartridge loss.

Accuracy and Ergonomics

The free-floated, cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel features 5R rifling at minimum bore and groove dimensions for enhanced accuracy. The factory-installed thread protector accommodates suppressors or muzzle devices with the standard 5/8"-24 thread pattern.

A 20 MOA Picatinny rail mounted atop the solid-steel receiver provides superior long-range elevation adjustment compared to traditional integral mounts. The three-position safety allows you to lock the bolt or load and unload with the safety engaged—a thoughtful design for safe handling.

The LC6 trigger delivers smooth, crisp performance right out of the box, supporting both precision shooting and field accuracy.

Stock and Handling

The American walnut stock features rounded contours along the barrel, bottom of the stock, and pistol grip, with wrap-around checkering on the grip and forend. Sling swivel studs are included for field carry. At 7.2 lbs. and 42" overall length, the Hawkeye Hunter balances portability with stability.
