The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite: Everyday Carry Perfected
The Taurus 856 Ultra Lite represents a thoughtful approach to personal defense—a compact revolver engineered for those who demand reliability without compromise.
Design and Purpose
This small-frame revolver is purpose-built for concealed carry and home defense. At just 16 ounces unloaded, it disappears into a waistband or bag without complaint. The 2-inch barrel keeps overall length to 6.55 inches, making it one of the most packable defensive revolvers available.
Construction and Materials
Frame: Matte black anodized aluminum keeps weight minimal while maintaining structural integrity.
Cylinder and Barrel: Carbon steel construction with matte black finish provides durability and corrosion resistance.
Grip: Black finger groove rubber grips offer secure purchase and reduce felt recoil.
Operational Features
- Action: Double/single action for versatility—double action for the first shot, single action for subsequent rounds if desired
- Capacity: 6 rounds of .38 Special +P ammunition
- Sights: Serrated ramp front sight and fixed rear sight for quick target acquisition
- Safety: Transfer bar mechanism prevents accidental discharge if dropped
