The Ruger American Gen II represents a thoughtful evolution in modern rifle design, combining proven engineering with practical refinements that serve both the experienced marksman and the shooter new to centerfire rifles.

Barrel and Action

The heart of this rifle is its medium-contour barrel, spiral-fluted to reduce weight without compromising stiffness or accuracy. The 20-inch length strikes an excellent balance between velocity and handling. A factory-installed radial port muzzle brake tames recoil while the threaded barrel allows for future accessory options. The cold hammer-forged barrel delivers ultra-precise rifling for exceptional accuracy and longevity.

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel with Ruger's familiar three-lug design and 70-degree throw, providing ample scope clearance and smooth operation. The oversized bolt handle ensures positive manipulation even with gloved hands.

Stock and Ergonomics

The gray splatter synthetic stock offers excellent grip texture without being sharp or abrasive. An installed spacer allows you to adjust length of pull from 13.75" down to 12", accommodating different body types and shooting positions. The low comb improves sight alignment when using magnified optics, and can be removed if you prefer low-mounted sights.

A soft rubber recoil pad with progressive collapse geometry reduces felt recoil while the large radius heel facilitates easy shouldering.

Trigger and Safety

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds, allowing you to dial in the feel that works best for your shooting style. The intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt while still allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

Accuracy Features

The patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy. A factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base is ready for your optics.
