The Ruger American Gen II represents a significant evolution in modern rifle design, combining proven mechanics with contemporary features that appeal to both hunters and target shooters.

Barrel and Action

The heart of this rifle is its medium-contour, cold hammer-forged barrel featuring deep spiral flutes that reduce muzzle weight while maintaining stiffness and accuracy. The 20-inch barrel is threaded (5/8x24) and topped with a factory-installed radial port muzzle brake that helps manage recoil impulse.

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel with Ruger's familiar three-lug design. The 70-degree bolt throw provides excellent scope clearance and smooth, reliable operation.

Trigger and Safety

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds—allowing you to dial in the exact feel you prefer. The intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt while permitting the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

Stock and Ergonomics

The gray splatter-finished synthetic stock provides excellent grip without sharp edges. The soft rubber recoil pad features a large radius heel for comfortable shouldering and progressive collapse technology that reduces felt recoil. The installed low comb improves sight alignment with magnified optics and can be removed for low-mounted sights.

Length of pull is adjustable from 12 to 13.75 inches via removable spacers, ensuring proper fit for shooters of different builds.

Accuracy Features

Patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel for outstanding accuracy. A factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base is ready for your optic.

Finish and Durability

Professionally applied Cerakote coating on the barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and bolt handle delivers a durable, easy-to-maintain finish that resists corrosion and wear.
