Ruger American Gen II: Precision and Reliability

The Ruger American Gen II represents a significant evolution in modern rifle design, combining time-tested engineering principles with contemporary features that appeal to both seasoned marksmen and those new to centerfire rifles.

Bolt and Action

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel, featuring the familiar three-lug design with a 70-degree throw that provides ample scope clearance. This design ensures smooth, reliable operation while maintaining the ergonomic advantages shooters have come to expect from Ruger rifles. The oversized bolt handle facilitates positive manipulation, even when wearing gloves or in adverse conditions.

Barrel and Muzzle System

The medium contour barrel is cold hammer-forged for ultra-precise rifling that delivers exceptional accuracy and longevity. Deep spiral flutes reduce muzzle-end weight to improve balance without sacrificing stiffness. The 20-inch barrel is threaded (5/8x24) and comes equipped with a factory-installed radial port muzzle brake that helps manage recoil while maintaining a compact profile.

Stock and Ergonomics

The gray splatter-finished synthetic stock provides excellent grip without being sharp or abrasive. An installed spacer system allows length-of-pull adjustment from 13.75" down to 12", accommodating shooters of various builds. The low comb improves sight alignment when using magnified optics. A soft rubber recoil pad with progressive collapse geometry reduces felt recoil and features a large heel radius for comfortable shouldering.

Trigger and Safety

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds. The three-position tang safety locks the bolt while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

Accuracy and Bedding

The patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy. A factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base is included.

Finish and Durability

Professionally applied Cerakote coating on the barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and bolt handle provides a durable, easy-to-maintain finish that resists corrosion and wear.
