Design Philosophy
The Gunner profile strikes a sensible middle ground. It's heavier than a pencil barrel for improved heat management and durability, yet lighter than a bull barrel for practical handling. This makes it well-suited for both range work and field use.
The 1:8 twist rate is optimized for the 7.62x39 cartridge, providing reliable stabilization across a wide range of bullet weights commonly available in this caliber.
Practical Considerations
At just 1.48 pounds, this barrel keeps your overall rifle weight manageable while maintaining the structural integrity needed for consistent performance. The 16-inch length offers a practical balance between velocity and maneuverability in an AR15 platform.
Faxon barrels are manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring proper headspace and chamber dimensions for safe, accurate shooting.
