Why the SMR Design Works

The Single Mission Rifle shares 90% parts commonality with the standard MRAD, ensuring reliability and serviceability while delivering a more efficient platform. The fixed stock configuration—featuring a vertically adjustable cheek piece and separate spacers for length-of-pull adjustment—provides the ergonomic flexibility shooters need without the weight penalty of a folding mechanism.

The free-floated barrel, held securely by a standard barrel nut, eliminates vibration and delivers the consistent accuracy that precision shooters demand. At 10.6 pounds, the SMR is nearly 2.5 pounds lighter than the standard MRAD, making it more manageable in the field without compromising structural integrity.

Ideal For

Whether you're working on a precision rifle range or deploying in a duty role, the MRAD SMR delivers the performance you expect from Barrett with a simplified, purpose-built design.
