Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit Holster: Security Meets Practicality
The Model 578 GLS Pro-Fit represents a thoughtful approach to everyday carry. It combines two proven technologies into a single, reliable package.
Grip Lock System (GLS)
The GLS is an intuitive retention mechanism that automatically secures your pistol when holstered. Release is equally straightforward—simply apply your middle finger with a standard shooting grip, and the weapon comes free naturally. This design eliminates the learning curve of traditional thumb breaks while maintaining positive retention.
Construction and Materials
The holster body is molded from SafariSeven, a modern nylon blend engineered for durability and protection. This material is:
- Non-abrasive to your firearm's finish
- Temperature tolerant across extreme ranges
- Lightweight for all-day comfort
- Easy to maintain with simple cleaning
Versatile Carry Options
The 578 ships with both an injection-molded paddle and an adjustable belt loop attachment. This flexibility allows you to configure the holster for standard hip carry or cross-draw positioning, depending on your preference and situation.
Fit and Compatibility
This holster accommodates most modern pistols with 3-5" barrels, making it a practical choice for common defensive and duty firearms.
