Magpul MOE SL Carbine Handguard

The MOE SL represents Magpul's commitment to delivering practical, cost-effective solutions for the working rifle. This handguard is purpose-built for AR-15 and M4 carbine platforms equipped with carbine-length gas systems and A2 front sight assemblies.

Design and Construction

Reinforced polymer construction provides operational durability without the weight penalty or expense of aluminum rail systems. The heat-resistant material withstands sustained use, while an integral riveted aluminum heat shield protects your hands from the hot front sight assembly. A large front extension and lower lip maximize useable handguard length and provide additional protection during tactical operations.

Modularity and Accessory Mounting

The MOE SL features M-LOK slots at the two, six, and ten o'clock positions, allowing you to attach:

• Picatinny rail sections
• Tactical lights
• Sling attachment points
• Vertical grips
• Other direct-attach M-LOK accessories

This modular approach lets you configure your rifle exactly as you need it, whether for duty, sport, or home defense.

Installation and Compatibility

The handguard installs easily using your existing delta ring and round front hand guard retaining cap—no gunsmithing required. It's a direct replacement for standard M4 carbine two-piece plastic handguards.

Important compatibility notes: This handguard requires a triangular A2 front sight assembly and is not compatible with piston-operated AR platforms or other gas block designs. Factory sling swivels must be removed from the A2 front sight assembly if equipped.
