The Ruger American Gen II represents a significant evolution in modern rifle design, combining precision engineering with practical features that appeal to both competitive shooters and hunters.

Barrel and Action

The heart of this rifle is its cold hammer-forged, medium contour barrel featuring deep spiral flutes that reduce muzzle weight while maintaining barrel stiffness and accuracy. The 20-inch barrel is threaded with a 1/2x28 pattern and includes a factory-installed radial port muzzle brake for recoil management.

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel with Ruger's familiar three-lug design. The 70-degree bolt throw provides excellent scope clearance and smooth operation, while the oversized bolt handle ensures positive manipulation even with gloved hands.

Trigger and Safety

The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger delivers a crisp release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds—allowing you to fine-tune the rifle to your preferences. The intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt while permitting the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

Stock and Ergonomics

The gray splatter-finished synthetic stock provides excellent grip without sharp edges. An installed spacer system allows length of pull adjustment from 13.75" down to 12", accommodating shooters of various sizes. The low comb improves sight alignment when using magnified optics and can be removed for low-mounted sights.

A soft rubber recoil pad with progressive collapse geometry reduces felt recoil while the large radius heel aids easy shouldering.

Accuracy Features

Patented Power Bedding integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel for outstanding accuracy. The factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base is ready for your optic of choice.

Finish and Durability

Professionally applied Cerakote coating on the barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and bolt handle provides a durable, easy-to-maintain finish that resists corrosion and wear.
