Ruger American Predator Gen II 400 Legend 22" Rifle

Ruger American Predator Gen II: Purpose-Built for Modern Hunting

The Ruger American Predator Gen II represents a thoughtful evolution in modern rifle design. This is a rifle engineered for hunters who demand accuracy, reliability, and practical features without unnecessary complexity.

Barrel and Action

The heart of this rifle is its cold hammer-forged, medium contour barrel with 11/16x24 threading. Ruger's hammer-forging process ensures ultra-precise rifling that translates directly to exceptional accuracy and barrel longevity. The factory-installed radial port muzzle brake manages recoil effectively while the threaded design allows for future suppressor compatibility.

The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel and features Ruger's familiar three-lug design with a 70-degree throw. This geometry provides ample clearance for modern optics while maintaining smooth, reliable operation. The oversized bolt handle facilitates positive manipulation in the field.

Accuracy and Control

Ruger's Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp, predictable release with user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds. The three-position tang safety locks the bolt while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged—a practical feature for hunters.

The patented Power Bedding system features an integral bedding block that positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel. This design philosophy yields the accuracy you need for ethical, effective hunting.

Stock and Ergonomics

The green splatter-finished synthetic stock provides excellent grip texture without sharp edges. The installed low comb improves sight alignment with magnified optics and can be removed for low-mounted sights. An installed spacer allows length-of-pull adjustment from 13.75" down to 12", accommodating different shooters and clothing layers.

The soft rubber recoil pad features a large radius heel for easy shouldering and progressive collapse that reduces felt recoil.
