Springfield Armory has reimagined the venerable 1911 platform for modern shooters. The Prodigy Compact merges the ergonomic familiarity of the 1911 with double-stack magazine capacity—delivering 15 rounds of 9mm in a package that remains true to the design's core principles.

Design & Construction

The Prodigy's architecture centers on a billet 7075-T6 aluminum frame paired with a forged carbon steel slide. Both are finished in durable black Cerakote. The 3.5" match-grade bull barrel is forged stainless steel with black DLC coating, ensuring consistent accuracy and longevity. A captured guide rod system manages recoil with proven reliability.

Optics-Ready Platform

The slide is milled to accept the included Viridian RFX11-A green dot optic. This factory-installed sight features Instant-On technology and a 30,000-hour battery runtime—practical advantages for both range work and defensive carry.

Sights & Controls

Tritium front sight paired with a black serrated rear sight provides fast target acquisition in varied lighting. The polymer grip module offers a secure, comfortable hold.
